FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions:

Q:  What is "Hearts For The Lost"?

A:  We are a non-profit ministry devoted to encouraging and equipping Christians to sharing their faith with the world in a biblical manner, and offer our services free of charge to church congregations across the United States.  Our "About Us" section of our website goes into more detail.

Q:
What does a Hearts For The Lost event consist of?

A:  Biblical teaching!  We even mention in our events for people to check their bibles to see if what we say is biblical or not.  Hearts For The Lost events are called "Stepping Up & Stepping Out" for a reason:  We encourage believers to "step up" to be obedient in God's command to share our faith with others.  We show them how to do it in a biblical manner using
Scripture, video examples, and even feature a question and answer session for attendees. We then "step out" by practicing what we preach and showing people how easy it is to witness with others.  That includes a local outreach by taking attendees who want to participate (or just watch from afar) out to a predetermined local public area to share our faith with others.
Our events closely resemble the "Transformed" events offered by Living Waters (www.livingwaters.com) and Way Of The Master

Q:
What does Hearts For The Lost believe?

A:  See our mission statement in our "About Us" section of our website.

Q:
What are your thoughts about ________ theology?  (Fill in the blank with any bible theology that you wish)

A:  Hearts For The Lost wants to glorify God above everything else, and we believe that the Church (Christians around the world) must unite in sharing one gospel to the world:  The biblical gospel found in the Scriptures and nowhere else.  We do not get bogged down in many secondary theology discussions/debates that are not essential to salvation.  That is not the
purpose of our ministry.  We want to see Christians diligently searching their bibles for knowledge on how to share their faith biblically to a lost and dying world.  We believe that digging deeper into God's Word is essential to every believer's spiritual growth, and should be facilitated by their local church body.  We want to assist that local church in educating their congregation in sharing their faith biblically.

Q:
What church is Hearts For The Lost associated with?

A:  Originally, Hearts For The Lost consisted of a few guys from different churches who formed this ministry on their own.  Hearts For The Lost operated for a couple years in this manner.  As the Lord led us to teach in different churches around the country, and the ministry was growing, we decided that it would be best to associate ourselves with a local church body for many reasons.  We're thankful that Covenant Baptist Church of West Columbia (http://www.covenantbaptistsc.org/) offered to support our ministry, and we now have a church we can be associated with and for accountability.

Q:
How can I get Hearts For The Lost to come to my church?

A:  You must first contact and discuss with your church pastor and church leadership.  We require that pastors be well informed and involved with coordinating a Hearts For The Lost event.  We can then coordinate with your church on planning the event, promotional material, and audio/video requirements.  We also require a minimum of 75 people in attendance for our "Stepping Up & Stepping Out" events.  You can reach us through our "Contact Us" page on our website, emailing us directly (davidmartin@heartsforthelost.com or mattwatson@heartsforthelost.com) or by calling David Martin directly (803.477.7921)

Q:
How much do you charge for an event?

A:  NO CHARGE.  Free.  We do not charge for travel, promotional material, or any other service that we offer.  We let you or your church decide whether you want to provide a love offering or not.  We do have Living Waters Ministries material for sale at the events (gospel tracts, audio CDs, evangelism resources, bibles, etc.).

Q:
  Why are your events free?

A:  We believe that the gospel (and sharing it to others biblically!) is so important that we're willing to use our time and money to encourage and equip believers in sharing their faith with others.  The Lord has provided our ministry the resources it needs, and He will continue to provide Hearts For The Lost what it needs as long as we serve Him faithfully and obediently.
